Dr. David Murray returns to ReformedCast once again. This time, we will talk about his book “Christians Get Depressed Too“, the attitude many Christians have about mental illness, and the various philosophies of treatments. Dr. Murray co-hosts the podcast “Connected Kingdom” with Tim Challies, hosts a blog called “Head Heart Hand” and is president of Head Heart Hand Media, a new Christian film company. David holds an M.A. from the University of Glasgow, a diploma (equal to an M.Div.) in theology from the Free Church of Scotland College and a Doctorate of Ministry from Reformation International Theological Seminary. Dr. Murray is a professor of Old Testament and Pastoral Theology at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary.

We welcome Dr. Steven J. Lawson this week as we discuss his book Foundations Of Grace (Long Line of Godly Men). We will look at the doctrines of grace and the many whom have held it during the history of the church. Dr. Lawson is senior pastor of Christ Fellowship Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University (B.B.A.), Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M.), and Reformed Theological Seminary (D. Min.). Dr. Lawson has also authored Famine in the Land: A Passionate Call to Expository Preaching, Made In Our Image, Absolutely Sure, The Legacy, and Faith Under Fire.

We will discuss the importance of apologetics with Dr. James R. White, director of Alpha & Omega Ministries, a Christian apologetics organization. Dr. White received his D.Min in Apologetics at Columbia Evangelical Seminary, teaches Greek, Systematic Theology, and various topics in the field of apologetics at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, and serves as an Elder at the Phoenix Reformed Baptist Church in Phoenix, AZ. Dr. White has He authored or contributed to more than twenty books, including The King James Only Controversy, The Forgotten Trinity, The Potter's Freedom, and The God Who Justifies. We will have Part II of the program during the summer, when we will have Greg Koukl on the program.

Ted Kluck will be our guest as we discuss the book he co-authored with Kevin DeYoung, “Why We Love the Church: In Praise of Institutions and Organized Religion.” Ted has studied at the Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis, and is the author of several books, including Why We’re Not Emergent (By Two Guys Who Should Be). The book discussed today, Why We Love the Church (with Kevin DeYoung), won Christianity Today Book of the Year awards, and Paper Tiger: One Athlete’s Journey to the Underbelly of Pro Football, which won a Michigan Notable Book award in 2008. His work has also appeared in ESPN the Magazine and Christianity Today. Ted has played professional indoor football, coached high school football, trained as a professional wrestler, served as a missionary, and taught writing courses at the college level. This week’s episode will feature Dr. J.V. Fesko, where we will discuss the Reformed doctrine of baptism and his book “Water Word and Spirit: A Reformed Perspective in Baptism.” Dr. Fesko is former Adjunct Professor of Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary in Atlanta, and now serves as Academic Dean, Associate Professor of Systematic Theology at Westminster Seminary California. He earned a Ph.D. in Theology from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. He also received a Master of Arts in Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas and a B. A. from Georgia State University. In addition to teaching at RTS, Dr. Fesko is a published author and is the pastor at Geneva Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Woodstock, Georgia. Dr. Fesko has also authored “The Rule of Love” , “The Law Is Not of Faith“, and Justification: Understanding the Classic Reformed Doctrine.
